Nashville Veterinary Specialists Behavior Service

Behavioral problems are responsible for a high percentage of the pets that are relinquished to shelters and for euthanasia. At  Nashville Veterinary Specialists we are very pleased to be able provide behavioral solutions for many pet behavioral problems   through our veterinary behavior service.

A board certified veterinary behaviorist is a veterinarian that has advanced education in animal behavior and who has clinically specialized in the diagnosis, management and treatment of behavior problems in domestic animals.

Our behavioral service is provided by Dr. Elizabeth Shull who is a board certified veterinary behaviorist and a charter diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. (www.dacvb.org) and who is also a board certified veterinary neurologist in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Neurology (www.acvim.org).

These specialties give Dr. Shull a unique combination of medical and behavioral expertise to apply to the understanding and treatment of pets’ behavioral problems.

Common problems benefitted by behavioral appointments include:

  • Aggression
  • Fear and generalized anxiety
  • House-training and marking
  • Noise aversions
