Dr. Meghan Henkel grew up in West Bend, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine in California (2018). During
veterinary school, she performed research on the California Sea Lion reproductive tract and the claw retractile-protractile mechanism of the domestic cat.
She completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Nashville Veterinary Specialists in 2019, then accepted a position as an Emergency Veterinarian with Nashville Veterinary Specialists.
During her free time, Dr. Henkel enjoys hiking and chasing waterfalls throughout the state of Tennessee as well as relaxing with her kitty Jasmine, reading, playing the
piano, and painting.
