We have five surgeons who have received the latest training, and are at the forefront of surgical techniques and treatments. Our surgeons are Dr. Trey Calfee,  Dr. Wesley Roach, Dr. Heather K. Streppa.  Dr. Blake Travis, and Dr. Mary Dell Deweese.

Our surgical department offers morning and afternoon consultation appointments to better suit your schedule.  Outside of our scheduled surgical times, one of our board-certified surgeons is always on call to handle any emergencies that might arise.

We are prepared to address all of your pet’s surgical needs including orthopedic, thoracic, abdominal, reconstructive and neurologic surgeries. We offer a number of advanced surgical treatment options including tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO), tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA), arthroscopy, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy, limb-spare procedures for bone tumors, vacuum-assisted wound closure (VAC) and numerous fracture repair techniques.

Your pet will be given special attention and care throughout his or her entire hospital stay.  Our hospital has three surgical suites with state-of-the-art monitoring and anesthetic equipment.  Pain management is emphasized for every patient before, during and after surgery to ensure your pet’s comfort.  Your pet will be anesthetized by one of our full-time anesthesia technicians who has advanced training in small animal anesthesia.  Following anesthesia and surgery, your pet will be monitored 24 hours a day by our ICU doctors and technicians until he or she is ready to go home.

Prior to your pet being set home, you will receive detailed instructions on post-surgical care.  The details of your pet’s care will also be communicated to your primary care veterinarian during your pet’s stay and at the time of discharge.
