Dr. Kelly Himeback was born and raised in a small town just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Delaware Valley University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then moved to Alabama where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine (2019). During veterinary school, her interests included cardiology and oncology. She created and organized the Paws for a Cause 5K run/walk event to raise money for a new clinical trial for treating dogs diagnosed with osteosarcoma. After graduation, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital in Aurora, Illinois. Dr. Himeback then accepted a full time position as an Emergency Veterinarian with Nashville Veterinary Specialists.
During her free time, Dr. Himeback enjoys hiking with her two Labrador retrievers named Lucas and Denver, traveling to national parks, spending time with her family, running road races, skiing, reading, and baking.
