Nashville Veterinary Specialists is a referral only veterinary surgical hospital dedicated to the care of the animals and animal owners of Middle Tennessee and surrounding regions. We function as an extension of your regular veterinarian and work hard to maintain a continual dialogue about the care that is being provided for your pet to both you and your veterinarian.

We are committed to delivering the best care for every patient that is treated in our hospital. We have access to a full array of diagnostic equipment including standard radiographs, complete lab work, diagnostic cytology, arthroscopy and computed tomography. We perform many types of surgical procedures and operate three general categories of cases. These include surgeries in orthopedics, neurology and general soft tissue. We have a special interest in the surgical treatment of animals with cancer (Dr. Calfee’s biography).

Our doctors and staff pay special attention to pain control and careful anesthetic monitoring of all our patients. All anesthetic cases are closely monitored by with the aide of advanced veterinary monitoring devices. Twenty-four hour care with a veterinarian on site at all times is provided for all our surgical patients.
