Dr. P.K. Hendrix

pkP.K. Hendrix is a Louisiana native, and attended the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining her D.V.M. in 1987. After practicing in a mixed animal practice in Southern Louisiana for a year, she pursued a residency in comparative anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her anesthesia training in 1992; then remained at the University of Minnesota to complete her PhD in 1995. Dr. Hendrix also became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists that same year.

Dr. Hendrix remained at the University of Minnesota as a Clinical Associate Professor until 2001 when she moved to the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine to assume a similar position. In 2003, she was honored as the recipient of the Norden Distinguished Teacher Award. Dr. Hendrix remained at Mississippi State until 2008 when she moved to Tennessee.

In her personal life, P.K. enjoys horseback riding, motorcycling, and scuba diving with her husband of 28 years, Mitch. She also loves to garden, and collect rocks and boxer dogs.
