Our location will provide you with a dedicated mentor and the opportunity to work with multiple ER doctors, our criticalist, anesthesiologist, surgeons, internists, cardiologists, neurologists, and oncologists. We have on-site CT, MRI, endoscopy, ultrasound, in-house lab, online access to any journal article and Plumbs. You will be attending weekly rounds with our rotating interns during the mentorship. We provide CE, a book allowance, moving allowance, and ample vacation time
Nashville Veterinary Specialists (NVS) is offering rotating internship positions to adaptable, hardworking, and highly motivated veterinary graduates to fill our intern class.
Nashville Veterinary Specialists is a veterinary specialty and 24/7 animal emergency hospital. Our primary focus is to honor the human-animal bond in all we do, by focusing on patient care, client experience, and the health of our team. We believe we can never stop improving and strive to improve in all we do. NVS is an actively growing practice and additional specialists may be added prior to the commencement of the internship.
Interns will rotate through each of the specialty services and assist in the management of cases under the direct supervision of our specialists. Interns will have primary case responsibility in ER with oversight from experienced ER doctors. Interns will have on-call duty on certain services. Interns will also be expected to participate in weekly teaching rounds and journal club.
Nashville Veterinary Specialists is conveniently located near the Nashville Zoo and Veterinary Ophthalmology Services (VOS) where external rotations can be done if interested in those specialties. NVS also has a sister hospital in nearby Clarksville, TN that has surgery, internal medicine, and emergency services.
Benefits include group plan health insurance, allowances for uniforms (scrubs and lab coats), and reimbursement for liability insurance and Tennessee state licensure. One week of vacation is included, as well as one week of sick or personal time that can be used for interview days for those pursuing additional internships or residencies.
