Dr. Allison Mallard is a native of Nashville and received her Bachelor of Science in animal medicine from Middle Tennessee State University. She went on to earn her DVM from the University of Tennessee, Knoxsville. After graduation, she completed an internship with Kansas State University, for small animal medicine and surgery.

Returning to Knoxsville, Dr. Mallard completed a 3-year residency for veterinary oncology. Her residency involved the treatment of canine visceral hemangiosarcoma with modified metronomic chemotherapy. Dr. Mallard's special interests include lymphoma, hemangiosarcoma, and urothelial carcinoma.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, antiquing, watching home remodel shows, and traveling. She and her husband have two scruffy dogs, Gidget and Prim, and a calico cat, Tippie.
