Chris Smola
Diplomate American College of Veterinary Surgeons
Dr. Smola is a board certified surgeon originally from a small town in lower Alabama called Eufaula. After high school, he attended Auburn University (War Eagle!!), where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and master’s degree in agriculture. After Auburn, he attended Lincoln Memorial University for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, graduating summa cum laude.
Following graduation, he left Tennessee for New York City, where he completed a one-year rotating internship and a one-year surgical specialty internship at The Animal Medial Center and BluePearl Veterinary Partners - New York (respectively). After completing his internships, he continued to pursue his passion for small animal surgery by completely a three-year residency at BluePearl Veterinary Partners - Philadelphia.
Dr. Smola is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Along the way, Dr. Smola and his wife have picked up three rescues: a hound dog if named “Bocephus” from Tennessee, a snobby grey tabby named “Bagel” from NYC, and a lovable, classic orange tabby named “Cheesesteak” from Philly.
Outside of rescuing animals they don’t have room for, Dr. Smola and his wife enjoy traveling, finding new restaurants, snow skiing, being on water, and watching sports. He is also partial to making and trying new cocktails, a hobby he picked up during covid in NYC (it beats baking bread).
