Dr. Sessions graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in May 1999. After graduation, he completed a one-year rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He then completed a second one-year internship with Texas A&M where he practiced Internal Medicine exclusively. In August 2001, Dr. Sessions began a three-year residency at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
He is board-certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, since 2004. His special interests include cardiorespiratory diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, and endocrine diseases. His research experience includes investigating the cellular effects of NSAIDs on the canine stomach, joints, and blood. Dr. Sessions has also published articles on certain bacterial infections and central nervous system disorders in dogs.
Dr. Sessions and his wife Mollie have two children and one rescue kitten named Mr. Menchie. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, weight training, and supporting the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.
